Terms and Conditions
As a ticket holder, I understand and agree to the following terms and conditions of the Northshore Home Builders Association “Raising the Roof for Charity” 2017 Home agreement set forth herein:
This ticket represents a chance to win the opportunity to accept an offer of the stated prize on the terms and conditions set forth below and in the “Winner Notification Agreement”, the terms of which are hereby incorporated by reference within.
The winner of the "Raising the Roof for Charity Home" agrees to accept the house “as built,” without additional alterations or additions. The winner of the home also agrees to accept the prize “as is”, and understands that no express or implied warranties are being given by the Northshore Home Builders Association relating to the prize, including warranty against redhibitory defects, other than the those provided under Louisiana’s New Home Warranty Act.
Each winning ticket holder will be sent a “Winners Notification Agreement” by certified mail, return receipt U.S. Mail. Each winner will have seven (7) days from the date of receipt to accept the prize by executing and returning the “Winner Notification Agreement” pursuant to the terms stated herein. Failure to execute and return the “Winner Notification Agreement” and accept the prize within a time period of 45 days, and pursuant to the terms stated therein will automatically result in the forfeiture for the prize, with no substitution or alternative prize. The prize will then be awarded to the second runner-up or to such runner-up that accepts the said prize pursuant to all stipulated terms and conditions.
Prizes may not be substituted or exchanged.
The $100 ticket price is not deductible for Federal and State income tax purposes. All sales are final and non-refundable.
Participants must be 18 years or older.
Access to all prizes by winners will be restricted until fully and unconditionally accepted by the winner on terms and conditions set forth herein and in the “Winner Notification Agreement” and complete delivery is made to the winner. All prizes remain the sole property of the Northshore Home Builders Association until unconditionally accepted “as is” by the winner.
The Northshore Home Builders Association reserves the right to use the names, pictures, video images, and relevant quotes of all winners.
Winners of each prize are subject to applicable Federal and State taxes, due and payable at time of delivery. The house is delivered at closing. Winner of the home agrees that the written determination of a licensed appraiser obtained by the Northshore Home Builders Association “Raising the Roof for Charity” will be used to determine the value of the prize for income tax and all other purposes.
Each winner is solely responsible for reporting and paying any and all applicable taxes related to the prize(s) and paying any expenses associated with any prize which are not specifically provided for in the official rules. Each winner must provide their valid identification and a valid taxpayer identification number or social security number before any prize will be awarded. Any person winning over $600 in prizes will receive an IRS form 1099 at the end of the calendar year and a copy of such form will be filed with the IRS.
The winner accepting the home will be subject to all applicable laws and regulations including covenants and/or restrictions which may apply.
Purchase of this ticket constitutes full agreement by the purchaser with all terms and conditions set forth herein and in the “Winner Notification Agreement.”
Northshore Home Builders Association employees, the current elected Board of Directors, and their spouses and dependents are not eligible to participate. Winners need not be present at the drawing, but must present this ticket and proof of identification to claim prize. Void where prohibited by law.
Net proceeds from the Northshore Home Builders Association “Raising the Roof for Charity” will be awarded to designated charities.
